On July 5 and 6, 2023, the first meeting of IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) CISPR A Joint Working Group 9 was held at Norsk Elektroteknisk Komite (NEK) in Oslo, Norway. This Joint Working Group gathers experts from CISPR subcommittees A, B, and H in an effort to define guidelines covering the appropriate measurement methods and procedures to perform a quick assessment of the electromagnetic emissions before and after the installation of equipment. The convenor Roger M. from the Norwegian Communications Authority (Nkom) requested our colleague Marco A. Azpurua to prepare a presentation on "Rapid Emissions Checks: Using more affordable instruments as an alternative to the EMI receiver".
The contribution to JWG9 is in the framework of the EMC-STD project.

EMC-STD Workshop - Disseminating project research results & Discussing open challenges
Our colleagues, Marco A. Azpurua and Jordi Solé Lloveras, from EMC Barcelona, had a very fruitful meeting with Dr Yasutoshi Yoshioka from Fuji Electric Europe - Drives & Automation on Wednesday, March 15th 2023. They discussed new measurement methods and procedures based on time-domain techniques and their application to emissions assessments in harsh electromagnetic environments. Contributions to the forthcoming CISPR 37 standard project are being consolidated. Use cases for EMC testing of PV systems are in development.
Special Session: In situ Electromagnetic Emissions Measurements
This special session is dedicated to technical contributions on the topic of in situ emissions measurements and how to overcome the challenges around them. Research contributions are invited providing innovative yet practical solutions for assessing electromagnetic interferences in harsh, in situ, conditions, ranging from novel testing methods to advances in instrumentation technology and algorithms, as well as study cases of EMC testing involving atypical equipment or carried out in complex environments. Several standard committees are working on in-situ EMC testing methods (CISPR 37, IEC 61400-40, IEC 62920, etc.) so that the discussion of standardisation efforts and contributions is also encouraged in terms of prospective and retrospective studies. Regarding the content, this session is meant to be balanced between state-of-the-art knowledge and more application-oriented work. Therefore, attendees and contributors from industry, academia, consultants, regulatory agencies and standardisation experts are all welcome.
